Chamber helps businesses stay out of trouble

HR Posters and other materials are available for order from the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce & Convention-Visitors Bureau

The Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce & Convention-Visitors Bureau is pleased to offer 2012 Employment Posters to keep our local businesses up-to-date and in compliance with state and federal laws. California businesses face increasing demands to comply with labor laws. Allow the Chamber to help in 2012.

The 2012 Employment posters include mandatory updates, which all employers must post. Posters include a checklist to ensure the poster is displayed according to the law. Also offered is “Poster Protect,” which provides a free updated poster if any mandatory changes occur during 2012.

Employers should display the poster in a conspicuous location where all employees can easily read it, such as a break room, common hallway, payroll office, or other central location.  In addition, employers must display several of the posters (polygraph protection, and state and federal anti-discriminatory posters) where job applicants can read them.  Please keep in mind, employment posters must be posted in each company location.

A fine of up to $17,000 could be imposed upon employers who do not have the required postings by January 1, 2012. A hefty price to pay for a poster that costs less than $25!

Also available for your convenience is HR Handbook for California Employers 2012 Edition, California Labor Law Digest 2012 Edition, Employee Handbook Software for California Employers 2012 Edition, Take Charge: Protecting Your Customers’ Credit Card Data and Exporting Guide for California Business.

Posters are available in both English and Spanish to suit your needs. Please contact the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce at (408) 244-8244 to place an order, or simply fax or mail in the order form with payment to ensure your order.
